Using Landing Pages to Attract New Customers
Market the products and services on your website using landing pages; they set the stage for your hard sell.
The landing page is often confused with the “squeeze page” among internet marketers, but in fact the two techniques are quite different. While the former is used to prepare, the latter is used to build a list of prospects.
Landing pages serve as a “gateway” to another page where the visitor will hear more about your product or service. They introduce your company, capture attention and try to spark enough interest to motivate the prospective customer to want to learn more. For this reason they tend to include more content and touch upon more ideas in an effort to engage the reader. Landing pages do not attempt to collect contact information from the page visitor, they simply set the stage for a selling opportunity.
The marketing ploy of squeeze pages is much more straightforward than that of landing pages. Squeeze pages are focused on getting contact information from visitors and using that to conduct follow-up marketing. For that reason, these pages do not present links to other parts of a website until users have signed up for the company’s email list. Occasionally, businesses offer free gifts to their potential clients in order to get their contact information.
Landing pages and squeeze pages both serve very useful purposes for website marketing. Landing pages engage the user and offer an appealing message that will potentially lead to a click-through to the primary selling page. Squeeze pages which are well constructed can convince as many as 50% of visitors to subscribe to a list – dramatically increasing the chances of converting those subscribers into customers. Both tools can provide powerful benefits as you work to optimize your website marketing opportunities.
