The Art of Search Engine Optimization
As vague as it may sound, search engine optimization is like a spoonful of mysterious things. However, for someone who aspires to become an online marketer, this subject is quite easy to understand.
Basically, search engine optimization is the process of improving the quality of traffic coming to your site from the search engines. When it comes to online marketing, the goal of SEO is, for a website to have value and relevance in order to get a higher page rank so it appears in the first page of the search engine. The way search engines do it is that, they list the websites according to its relevance for a particular keyword being searched by the online visitors. Therefore, you have to be careful in choosing the right keywords that will rank well for your website and it should always be accompanied by a good online marketing technique
There are actually a number of online marketing techniques that webmasters use for search engine optimization; one of them is link building. It is a process of creating inbound links pointing to own website.in order to increase traffic. You can do this through creating reciprocal links such as being listed in relevant link directories, E-zine, and social book marking sites. Two of the easiest ways to create links are as follows:
* Social Bookmarking – This is a process of creating online bookmarks pointing to your web pages. For instance, someone stumbled upon your site and found some interesting stuff. It can happen that they would visit some social bookmarking sites, such as Digg and Technorati, to have your site bookmarked. The bookmark will contain a short description and a link pointing to your site ,where other online visitors can click through. This technique can have a viral effect that contributes to the good performance of your site.
* Article Writing/Content Writing – Writing useful and compelling articles are by far the easiest ways to get visitors coming to your site. You can choose to post these articles to your own website or submit them to different article directories that allow you to include a link pointing to your website upon submission of the articles. However, you should not be surprised to know that most online marketers do not actually write articles themselves. It’s either they hire someone to write for them or they buy articles from a company offering writing services.
