Taking The HP Color LaserJet 3800n Printer For What It’s Worth

Spending a few moments with the nice HP Color LaserJet 3800n printer using LaserJet 3800n replacement toner is usually sufficient time to gain a full appreciation of how well this Hewlett-Packard product works. It is a member of the 3800 line of HP network printers and features several upgrades or additions to the 3800 series that its predecessor didn’t feature. These attributes have given the new 3800n a bit more going for it in terms of performance, for one.

For starters, it has a Hewlett-Packard Jetdirect Fast Ethernet embedded print server, which is something the original 3800 doesn’t have as standard equipment. Another standard feature of the 3800n is its 802.11 b/g wireless LAN, which is another optional feature with the 3800. The 3800n also comes to its purchaser network ready, which any IT specialist will surely appreciate.

Like all of the 3800 printers, one of the nicer selling points to them is that they all feature good print speeds. In terms of this particular lineup of printers all come with 22 pages per minute of print output, which is a few pages more per minute than most of its competitor printers are capable of producing. Additionally, from the time the print job is tasked until the time the first page emerges is only about 12.5 seconds, which is a very nice output speed.

A standard 533 MHz processing chip handles all of the chores within the printer. This particular chip is also standard equipment in every 3800 model in the line. All will be able to take a large number of print assignments and prioritize and then produce their assignments with little trouble and no hangup or stuttering from dealing with multiple assignments. Most workgroups rapidly come to appreciate this sort of reliability.

When it comes to the pages per month within a 3800 printer’s duty cycle, all feature a 65,000 page capability. This is on a 30 day cycle, by the way, and always remember that these are not laser toner cartridge printers. Rather, they all make use of four separate HP Color LaserJet printer toners, including a black, a magenta, a yellow and a cyan module. Laser jet cartridges have many things going for them, it must be said.

Standard print resolution is the same, as well, across all models in the 3800 printer lineup. This particular printer features 600 dots per inch resolution, meaning that any sort of print product that emerges will usually look crisp and clear and with no blurring or smudging in evidence. This is so even with graphics-rich print taskings, which the 3800n handles fairly easily.

Every 3800 in the lineup comes with the same paper-carrying capability. All feature to standard paper trays, with the option to add a third when needed. 850 sheets of paper can be accommodated with little trouble, as well as 10 envelopes, though no 3800 comes with an automated envelope feeder, is really a very minor sticking point that is of no real concern, to be honest.

It does all of this with a standard 160 MB of memory which can be upgraded to 544 MB which, taken together with all of its other attributes, makes the HP Color LaserJet 3800n printer a more than capable printer well-suited to small and medium-sized workgroups. Combined with its reasonable retail price, and with its nice prints speeds, there’s a great deal to like about this versatile and durable Hewlett-Packard product.

The quality of the HP Color LaserJet 3800n ink and toner aids in this printer’s appeal. Crisp and clean pages are necessary for every business and HP compatible toners delivers. Finding compatible toner online is a cinch with their great prices and fast shipping.
