Zygor World Of Warcraft Leveling Guide

January 22nd, 2010 No comments

World of Warcraft is believed to be the biggest massively multi-player online role playing game in the world. It is believed to capture about 60% of the total MMORG playing population, with over 11.5 million monthly subscriptions.

Captivating is the best way to describe the game. It was released in 2004 and it followed on the heels of Warcraft: The Frozen Throne, the third release in a series that began in 1994 as Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. So far it has had three expansions. They are: The Burning Crusade in 2007; Wrath of the Lich King, 2008, and Cataclysm 2009.

The game is performed in a world termed Azeroth, where the gamer creates a personality for himself to fight humans or orcs of the enemy race in the mode player versus player; battle monsters or conditions in the mode player versus environment; or a combination of the two as he wishes.

Attaining higher level is the objective of the game where greater skills or additional talents are obtained. This is done through ‘quests’, much like Sir Galahad’s for the Holy Grail, where the rewards are points, ‘money’ or items, like gold. There are many kinds of quests, or also called ‘tasks’ or ‘missions’, each quest starting from a previous one.

Moving up the levels is like in Mario Brothers, in that when the particular tasks or quests set in one level are completed, one can proceed to the next higher level and face new challenges and adventures. The WoW levels are from 1 to 80, and getting from the first to the 80th level may take a player anywhere between a few days to several months, depending on how long he plays each time, and how fast he acquires the skills necessary to play it. A few ways, however, exist to truncate the trip, and the most used is leveling guides.

One of the best guide that many world of warcraft gamers praise is the Zygor’s leveling guide, which they say is very user-friendly even for WoW newbies and experts alike. Among the features they rave on is that Zygor’s have guides for both Alliance and Horde, the two combating races of Azeroth, something other guides do not have.

Thus whichever race you are in, there is assistance for you that favors neither one, boosting characters equally well. Likewise, there is less grinding in the guides because the selected missions were the ones that give the best benefits.

The guide is comprehensive and very easy to understand even if it is a neophyte. Quests may be referred to a thottbot, a reference guide there to help. There is even a map add-on that can guide you to places of better performance or turning in every quest. The help data may appear as a dot which may serve as a point destination, and an arrow appears pointing to it when it is clicked on. Tips are also provided, that, though many are basic, can be very helpful nonetheless, certainly for newbies in the game.

Judgment? It is hands down the best leveling guide for WoW at present, and you only need to play it once to appreciate its value. Unless, of course, you want to be frustrated at every turn and quest.

The Zygor Leveling Guide is one of the most popular and helpful in-game WoW guides on the Net. Check out the following link for more info about the Zygor Leveling Guide for World of Warcraft.

Tips For Mage Leveling in WoW

December 16th, 2009 No comments

So you want to roll a mage, and are looking for the best way to get to 80 in a hurry? Well, look no further, because I’m going to tell you everything you need to know to roll through the levels in a hurry with this article on Mage Leveling.

Let’s talk gear first. Spellpower or Spell Damage of the appropriate element, enough Hit to be capped (four percent against equal-level targets), and Int. Don’t bother with spirit, and don’t dump other stats for stamina, unless you want to PvP a lot while leveling. Evocation and Replenishment are both max-mana based, so Int is your goto stat for regen; Spirit is worthless even with the appropriate talents.

While nothing is as important as being hit capped (an unlucky miss can get you killed), determining the priority of Int or Spellpower is trickier. Generally speaking, if you aren’t killing the mob before it reaches you for the second time post-Nova, you need more damage. If you are, great, stack more Int so your Evocations are bigger and you can go longer without drinking.

Now that your gear is in order, let’s talk specs. Frost is incredibly good for leveling…once you have the right talents. Until level 29, though, it is going to be inferior to Arcane in pretty much every way. So grab those first two five-point Arcane talents, then get Arcane Attunement and Arcane Focus maxed. What you get after that doesn’t really matter, you’ll be respeccing to Frost at 29 or 30.

As Frost, you want to go with something like http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=#oZZAc0hobu at 30, although you can trade Frostbite for Icy Floes if you want quicker Frost Novas asap. Whatever you do, grab the other talent next, then get Frost Channeling and Winter’s Chill. Then grab Ice Barrier, Shattered Barrier, and Cold as Ice. Then fill out the rest of the tree, starting with your Water Elemental(make sure to get the Glyph of Eternal Water!). At this point you should be ready to respec or continue on to a end-game Frost/Arcane spec.

With spec and gear out of the way, all that’s left to discuss is playing style. AoE requires more skill than I can teach easily, so we’ll stick to single-target pulls, which are preferable now that AoE has been nerfed anyways. Basically, you want to nuke the enemy until they are close to hitting you, then Nova them. After you get some distance, continue nuking until they die. For the first ten or fifteen levels, just use your wand or whatever you just got a rank in as your nuke. And always finish off near-dead enemies with your wand to conserve mana!

The same strategy applies to both Arcane and Frost, but you should note that Arcane will have to tank every second fight, thanks to a longer cooldown on Frost Nova. This isn’t a big deal, since Arcane Missiles is immune to knockback, but you may have to shield if you are taking too much damage. Generally, though, Mana Shield and Ice Barrier are unwanted mana drains outside of emergencies or ranged mob pulls.

So there you have it, all you need to know about leveling mages. There are some advanced strategies that I’ve left out, but on the whole you should be able to pick them up with experience; trying to teach them would be close to impossible as many are very situation-based.
