Dealing with Dry Skin

February 8th, 2010 No comments

Dry skin is quite frequently sensitive as well, which just makes it more difficult to deal with. Dry sensitive skin feels tight because of the lack of natural oils and has a tendency to develop small expression lines that will evolve into wrinkles. Moreover, this type of skin makes one more exposed to allergic reactions, rashes, capillaries rupturing and sudden flushes. Therefore, the taking care of dry sensitive skin proves quite a challenge at times. It is worth mentioning the fact that it affects people regardless of age, colour or gender.

You need to follow rigorous rules in your choice of cleansing, moisturising and make-up products if you have dry sensitive skin to take care of. First of all, you have to reduce the amount of products you put on your face. The fact is, the more chemicals you come into contact with, the higher the chance of developing rashes. The products ought to be fragrance-free and hypo-allergenic so that you don’t get red, irritation blotches. Blusher and foundation can pose some difficulties for dry sensitive skin.

Try not to put on too much make-up in order to allow the skin to breathe properly. When shopping for make up, other than the hypo-allergenic label, you should also make sure that they are oil free. The foundation or the blusher should be water-based because they don’t clog your pores. Oil-absorbing foundations are not recommended for dry sensitive skin, because they will make your epidermis even drier.

It is also not to be recommended that you use exfoliants or astringent products on dry sensitive skin because they can irritate the thin epidermis. The same thing has to be said in relation to washing – too frequent washing of the face means eliminating the natural oils that oil the skin, which will produce increased dryness.

Furthermore, the day-time moisturiser should have a sun-protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 built-in. However, although you may like sunbathing, dry sensitive skin doesn’t really allow you to enjoy such outdoor pleasures.

If you have dry sensitive skin, don’t expose it to the sun unnecessarily to tan it, because you will only achieve early ageing and possibly even fairly serious health issues. And last but not least, a warning must be given that you should change some of your cosmetic products for other ones along the lines mentioned above.

If you decide that you want to switch to a different make of skincare products, it is very important that you test the product on a small section of skin in order to check whether it triggers any allergic reactions.

Skincare is vital in these days of pollution and ozone deficiency. If you require information on Dry Skin Care Products, please visit our website called Hypoallergenic Skin Care Don’t reprint this exact article. Instead, reprint a free unique content version of this same article.

Stop Your Dog From Barking Excessively

February 8th, 2010 No comments

Most all dogs bark sometimes. It is their primary mode of communication but when a dog barks excessively it is frustrating for everyone. Some breeds bark more than others but all dogs bark at times.

There are quite a few reasons why a dog will bark. If your dog is bored because he stays in the house or the same yard all the time he may start barking to entertain himself. Dogs enjoy social stimulation and interacting with others. Try to incorporate more playtimes or go for more walks. This may stop your dog if he is barking excessively because of boredom.

Dogs may also be barking excessively because they become nervous or scared. When a dog is appropriately socialized they tend to be calm and more relaxed around different people and in different situations but if a dog is not used to these new things he may bark from anxiety. Train your dog to be calmer by taking him to different places and around different people. Give him a food reward when he is quiet and well behaved. This often works well as the dog will start associating the pleasing treat with the new situation rather than nervousness.

Dogs will bark to get your attention and this is a great way to communicate. However, if you respond to this type of communication every time you are just teaching your dog to bark more. Attempt to get him to communicate in different ways and reinforce that behavior with praise and treats. He can rub on your leg if he wants to go out just as easily as he can bark at you!

Sometimes your dog will bark excessively because you have left home and you are not with him. This barking from separation anxiety is disturbing to the neighbors and others so it is smart to try to stop it. Start when he is a puppy and crate him when you leave so he learns to be happy in his own space. Also never make a big deal out of leaving home but rather just sneak away quietly. He may never know that you are gone and if he does he will not be so loud about it.

Dogs bark when they want to protect the ones that they love. This is most often considered to be a good thing unless your dog is barking excessively to protect you from the mailman (or mail person!) every single day! In that case try to distract your dog with a treat or some playtime. You can also introduce your dog to the mailman. If he becomes friendly with the people who come by most often then he is less likely to bark excessively. If your dog barks to protect you though, you should be grateful as someday you may find yourself in a situation where you need that.

There are many ways to help curb excessive barking. You can consult a professional dog trainer that can give you some tips. Oftentimes more socialization and more playtimes will help him to bark less. One thing to keep in mind though is that usually your dog is barking for a reason. Find out what that reason is and then deal with it.

If your dog only barks for proper communication you and others like you will enjoy your dog more. Start training your dog not to bark excessively while he is still a puppy and by the time he is grown up you will know that if he is barking it is for a good reason.
