Never Lose the Leaf to Your Round Kitchen Table

August 17th, 2010 No comments

If you are keen on hosting parties and events that revolve around the use of a dinner table you know that it is always important to have a good sturdy table that can have its size adjusted to meet your needs. A drop leaf round kitchen table is the perfect party table because it will allow all of your guests to sit around a circle so they can more easily communicate and it will also be possible to extend the table if the dinner party grows too large.

There are two main types of extendable round kitchen tables: the drop leaf and the round kitchen table with leaf that is removable. One type is called the drop leaf table because it actually “drops” parts of it when you want to shrink it in size. These tables don’t have any removable parts but are able to change shape and size by carefully adjusting the position of the table legs. The tabletop on a drop leaf kitchen table is designed with hinges so that when you move the table legs in certain ways they will stop holding up one side of the table and let it drop to its side.

The tables with removable leaves are usually larger in size and therefore more likely to be owned by someone who hosts a lot of dinner parties. The only problem with these tables is that they have a couple removable parts that if lost will ruin the integrity of the table and effectively nullify its ability to change shape. To ensure that your table never loses its main features you must never lose the leaf that comes with you table.

The best way to store a table leaf when it is not in use is simply to tape it to the underbelly of the table itself. Use a strong tape so that it won’t fall off and break and tape it between the support trusses under the tabletop. When you want to extend the table simply remove the tape and install the leaves. Choosing a Kitchen Table

Are you looking to refurnish your kitchen? Typically, the kitchen doesn’t have much as far as furniture, but there are a few key features you shouldn’t overlook. The kitchen table is probably the biggest and most important piece of furniture to have in your kitchen. Many kitchens don’t have enough space for a kitchen table, but if you do, take your time choosing just the right one to fit both aesthetically and practically in your space.

What kind of space are you trying to fill? The size and shape of the space where you will put your new table will decide a lot about what kind of table you should get. Large spaces can be nicely filled with a square or rectangular table. A smaller space is harder to fill but can often accommodate a round kitchen table. Round tables allow for extra seating based on their shape. All types can have leaves added to them to extend the size for times when you have a lot of guests over.

What type of style should you get? This will largely depend on the general style of your kitchen. For example, a modern style kitchen will have a completely different looking table than a traditional, French style kitchen. You might even decide to get a round glass kitchen table if you are going for the modern look, whereas a different style may lend to dark wood. A basic table may fit nicely into many different style kitchens and kitchen appliances.

How much are you able and willing to spend? You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a good quality and nice looking table. If you’re looking for something inexpensive, try a used furniture store. Tables are great to buy used because you can often find top quality tables at a very low price. You might even find a one-of-a-kind gem antique that you could find in a store. Also, many cheap tables in a store are very low quality that get damaged easily. Be selective without spending too much money.
