Oriental New Year And Activities

February 8th, 2010 No comments

You may find it difficult to calculate Chinese New Year but if you observe the traditional activities related to New Year carefully you will get to know when it is celebrated.

The Chinese New Year is a time when the locals bring back to life the ancient traditions that have been practiced for centuries in China. Although there is no fixed date for the Chinese New Year the activities sure do make it clear that the New Year is here. The festive spirits are on high during this time of the year and the whole of China is engaged in a hub of activity.

It is quite amazing that Chinese have no set date for their New Year. In spite of such a tradition you can not miss it as many ancient customs are revived at this time of the year. In fact the nation becomes active with traditional activities which are there for centuries and there is a festive spirit in the air. All the activities done during this time of the year makes New Year an important festival in China and any outsider can make out that Chinese New Year has arrived.

The action begins with the home, to be more precise, home cleaning is the first official New Year activity for all Chinese home owners. This cleaning includes a top to bottom makeover. Out with the old and in with the new. Families purchase new clothes for the celebration days and pay off any pending debts.

They give their homes a renovation that often includes a paint job and pending repair work. The family members get themselves a hair cut and gear themselves up to take on the blessings of the New Year to come.

The home cleaning is done in a big way by doing repair on the home and may be painting the house. The people spruce themselves up for the approach of New Year by getting a hair cut.

The tradition of the house cleaning in New Year is rounded off by painting the doors and windows in red color. This is done because Chinese believe that red color is a symbol of good luck and it holds off the evil.

During the Chinese New Year you will come across a lot of doorways with spring couplets hanging on them. These paper made curls and squares are engraved upon with particular meanings. Keeping with the auspicious spirit the couplets have blessings engraved for the coming year or showering of good fortune or a good spring time etc.

During the Chinese New Year the traditional symbols and traditions are given importance. They all hang paper lantern in their houses as a part of the tradition. The animal of the year must get prominence and as such should be seen throughout the house. Chinese also get beautiful flowers and plants for decoration, blessing and prosperity. Narcissus and quince are a few examples of the flowers they use.

Chinese new year food is a wonderful way to kick off any celebration. If you are interested in other Chinese family new year activities follow the hyperlinks.

How to Discern Dreams with Its Intensity

February 7th, 2010 No comments

God lives. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We see He spoken to people in the ancient times in the Bible, therefore, we know that He still speaks today. One of the ways which He speaks is through dreams and visions. When we talk about this, the most frequently asked question is: How could we know whether the dream or vision was from God or just our own imaginations?

There are different denominations of the Church of Christ today. Some believe that God speaks frequently to each person, some believe the opposite. Whatever denomination you are in, we all agree that we must treasure the words of God and receive fearfully. We must stand in the middle of truth, avoiding the two extremes. If we treat every dream as divine revelation, this would cause serious problems and confusions. It is also clearly rebuked in the Bible (Book of Jeremiah 23). If we ignore all the dreams even the real divine ones, we would be missing importance guidance from God and disobeying the command of God in 1 Thessalonians not to despise prophesyings.

We should not despise prophesying but test every one of them with truth. Real divine dreams share some common characteristics; we could have some hints of whether a dream carries divine information from God by reviewing these characteristics. One of them is the intensity of the dreams or visions. A real divine dream almost always creates deep reflection within a person’s heart. Unlike a normal dream which are often unclear, illogical and random. During sleep, the brain rests and even during the working of dreams, it is only partially turned on. The normal mental abilities and activities are suppressed, resulting in the chaotic attributes of normal dreams.

In contrast, when divine dreams happen which are supposed to be caused by supernatural power of God, we enter into a different realm. The power is a kind of intrusion in nature, although God is tender and He does it gently. The intrusion of information carries divine power that would engage the whole person and affect his deepest being. We see this happened in the book of Genesis chapter 28. Jacob, the son of Isaac met God and saw the ladder to heaven in Bethel.

The power of the messages from God is likely to cause the receiver to react emotionally. Dreamers of divine dreams often find them more vivid and real then normal dreams. They could remember them clearly even after a long time, especially the message which God tries to communicate through the vision.

The powerful messages in divine dreams leave long term impression in someone’s mind. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. The divine revelations are given for the good to people who love God. Sometimes more than personal, God speaks to individuals about a group of people, nations or even the whole human race. The intensity of a dream provides us with a clue to judge its origin.

Law of Attraction, Creation, And A Soft Heart

February 7th, 2010 No comments

Sometimes I sit at my computer, and feel a bit stumped. What to write about?! This is a good lesson is listening to your intuition. You must allow it to flow. You must allow yourself to be inspired. As a conscious creator you can tap into what to write about, just like you tap into the energy of creating your reality. Today…I’m going to be talking about a “soft heart”.

When I speak of manifesting, a “softening of resistance” is often the prescription for helping to create something in your reality. (Resistance meaning, negative emotion, thought, or belief that does not align with the love that you are) True indeed.

But even more so — the idea of having a soft heart, toward yourself and others is a way of living that commands a vibrational shift without too much effort, and without resisting resistance. Catch me? No getting out of your own way, no trying to “raise your vibe”.

Do I teach that? Yes. And why? Because it’s full of truth and it works. Alignment is key.

Remember this however… it’s a choice to have a soft heart. In any moment you have the option to choose it. It holds profound uplifting energy…one that can’t be matched by merely picking apart your belief system, and thinking about individual thought you are thinking. It’s a way of being. Choice.

If you are looking to find the sweet spot of manifestation… this is it. This is the space from which all things are created…allow yourself to drop into this space.

Imagine it for a moment…and say the words, “soft heart” – and watch what happens to YOU. Watch what happens with the words alone – imagine if you were doing it, or applying it to a situation in your life.

Do something today, right now, that comes from a place of the soft heart within. Do it for yourself, and then find someone to direct that energy to. Do it because you want to, because you want to experience the shift, and stay conscious about you line up with your Inner Being. From my soft hear to yours!
