Casual to Elegant with Orange Floral Bedding

March 7th, 2010 No comments

When we think of orange we seldom think of decorating our bedrooms with orange bedding.  Perhaps now is the time to give orange floral bedding a closer look.

The shades of orange range from a coral shade to as close as orange can get to being a pastel.  No longer is the only option for orange bedding the colors of our favorite sports teams.  Today there is a place in many bedrooms for orange bedding in stripes and floral prints.

Orange floral bedding can be very casual, offering a simple pattern of flowers in one color on a darker orange background.  Among the tropical bedding available for this spring are several styles that place casual white flowers on orange, keeping the pattern very simple.

Simple patterns of floral designs on the orange background are often ideal for the teens bedroom.  A flash of color is often quite welcome in the younger person’s bedroom if it is casual in design.  Simpler floral patterns are often found as a part of the decor of bedrooms along coastal areas where color is king.

For those who seek a more formal design, luxurious and elegant orange floral bedding patterns can be found that are fit for royalty.  Usually in the more elegant bedding sets there is a careful blend of other colors, perhaps light greens or other pastel shades.

To complete any floral bedding set it is usually recommended that the decor be complemented with solid colors in sheets and pillow cases.  The solid shades will help tone down the floral patterns, especially if the principle color is in the orange family.

Contrary to what many may think, orange floral patterns do not limit the bedroom decor but can open the color scheme to a variety of colors.  Whether combining orange with greens or a shade of turquoise, maybe a darker shade of purple or a lighter pastel pink, orange floral bedding can work in many bedrooms without overwhelming the room with a too ostentatious color.
