Shopping Online For A Cheap Laptop

February 10th, 2010 No comments

Looking For A Cheap Laptop for school or work? You can find a lot of good deals in the market today. But you must also remember like all other products you get what you paid for. This boils down to a great price is fine but you might have problems down the road with it.

You might find a low price. But this means nothing if your laptop is constantly in the repair shop. So research the brand you are looking at buying. Also, you might consider a used laptop for extra savings. These are available on the internet and in computer stores.

Ask if the computer you are looking at is rebuilt or if it is simply used. If it is rebuilt then you will have a warranty of some sort. It will not be as extensive as with a new unit and it will not be as long a warranty as a new unit but it will be something at least. In any event make sure to ask for a few days to have to take the unit home and examine and work with it.

You should ask for at least three days. Most stores will offer this anyway. But if not buy your laptop somewhere else. Check the key pad and the screen, and they overall systems before you decide to buy and keep it.

Make sure the key pad works properly. And make sure the laptop boots up and all systems run properly. Make sure the screen is viewable. If not you will quickly see images that are uneven on the screen.

Make sure the mouse is working properly. If you have someone who knows about computers take it to him and have him check it out. You might even pay someone to check it out. This brings up the price you will pay for your laptop but it will be worth it to make sure you do not have to replace it in a few weeks because you did not detect a problem.

Are you Looking For A Cheap Laptop that is new? You can find great deals on close out models. These are new models that are discontinued. They are priced to move. You of course get all the benefits of a new computer; the warranty, the service support, and the peace of mind that your are the only owner. Whether or not you get an extended warranty is up to you. But it does raise the cost of your unit and most new laptops run fine throughout the extended period of the warranty.

How To Get Your Bargain Laptop

February 10th, 2010 No comments

When you fill your house with electronic goods you just know that you are going to be losing half of your savings. One of the most expensive ones that people will commonly get with be their home computer and this can really set you back if you get something top of the range. There are, however, lots of nifty little tricks that you can play in order to get yourself a cheap laptop. Here are some tips that you might want to think about.

Maybe you could consider waiting for the sales. This will of course depend heavily on whether you are desperate to get a laptop right away or not. If you are in a position where you are able to use another laptop for the time being or perhaps you are just looking to get an upgrade then it is always good to wait for some sort of sale to happen.

You may also consider waiting for a sale at a particularly shop. Of course you will never be able to predict when a certain shop is going to suddenly have a sale but it is a good idea to wait for one of the electronic stores in the local area to have a sale on. It will indeed depend on what you are looking for in your laptop, but this is a great way to get any laptop at a lower price.

You might also want to think about something like Ebay. These online auction houses are great places to get yourself a bargain. A lot of the laptops that are going to be being sold on there will come from other online shops and so you may also want to try finding some cheap sites over the net by simply typing ‘cheap laptops’ into your search engine.

If you really do not mind about what sort of laptop you are after and are willing to sacrifice certain functions in order to simply get a pretty basic machine you might also consider going second hand. Again, online auction houses are fantastic places to find people selling up their laptops on the cheap.

It is important to find out why these laptops might be being sold, however, as some might not work as well as they did and therefore they are being sold. However, there are always going to be those diamonds in the rough where someone has just bought an upgrade and so is trying to shift their slightly older model.

These are just a few tips on getting a cheap laptop.

Tips For Buying Laptops Online

February 10th, 2010 No comments

Buying computers at computer stores may soon become an antiquated practice as more and more consumers look online to make their laptop purchases. Indeed, many sites allow you the ability to customize your computer online with just a few mouse clicks, making online purchases an attractive proposition.

But for the less tech saavy, pre-built laptops are probably still the best way to go. Many times, when you buy a laptop that has been premade, you can get exceptional deals because of the lower cost of manufacturing associated with these computers.

It’s not always easy to know exactly where to make your purchase, however. Some people like Ebay because of the low cost, but I would caution against buying a computer there because you can never be sure what you are getting. Many Ebay sellers get their goods for China, which raises concerns over authenticity.

It is better, in my opinion, to try purchasing from a reputable site like Dell or Amazon. The larger sites almost always offer the most competitive prices and offer a better selection.

Don’t restrict your internet activity to simply making a laptop purchase, however. Many consumers don’t realize what a great source of information the internet is, and by all means you should research you laptops on the internet as well. There are tons of reviews on the popular laptop models, and there is no reason why you should not be able to make an educated purchase and know exactly what you are getting if you do your research.

So what exactly should you pay attention to when buying a laptop. There are three things I believe are important. 1) The manufacturer’s reputation, 2) the specifications of the model, and 3) how upgradeable the unit is. Cost may as well be an issue for many consumers, but remember to not make this the deciding factor. With so much price competition out there, you are bound to find a good computer in your price range.

If you are unsure of which model Laptop to get, I recommend the HP G60 and the highly popular Dell Inspiron 1545.
