Six Key Suggestions To Effective Internet Marketing

February 8th, 2010 No comments

An increasingly profitable endeavor today is online business using effective internet marketing strategies. If you work it right, your internet business will grow exponentially. More and more people are turning to the internet for ways to answer their problems. The astute marketer person will pay attention to the numbers. You may be thinking that all is well and good, but exactly how are you supposed to accomplish this task? Below are six key ideas to get you started.

1. Keyword Research – Very Important

Good keywords are critical in how you will rank well in the search engines and extremely important when it comes to effective internet marketing. Long tail keywords are even better than single word or 2 words phrases. Why? Using longer keywords will bring you more targeted traffic instead of generalized browsers, plus they are more likely to be in the final stages of the buying decision instead of just window-shopping.

Long tail keywords are actually several words together and the intention is to focus on a small niche audience. Narrowing your focus targets specific users looking for a specific item or service. In the end, this means better quality traffic to your website and you are not in competition with the established giants of the online world.

The idea is to find keyword phrases that are unique or specific and targeted. For example, try this. Go to the free WordTracker Keyword Tool – http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com

Put in “internet marketing” – without quotes – then click the Hit Me button

Make note of what this search returns. With this keyword, you’ll notice that there are more than 1,800 searches daily. This is fantastic however; it is very competitive and really not that specific.

On the other hand, look at this phrase, “internet marketing optimization”, it has 90 daily searches. This is a long tail keyword and is targeted for people looking for a good way to optimize their internet marketing or site. This then is the better keyword choice and more in-line with effective internet marketing practices.

2. Social Networking- Employing Web 2.0

There has been a shift on the web to shared knowledge and creativity; the phrase web 2.0 symbolizes this sentiment. Social bookmarking, multimedia websites, blogs and such are all prime examples of social networking which is at the heart of web 2.0. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people involved in social networking and for the internet marketer, it is a great opportunity to use them as a way to reach potential customers.

So, your goal in this process many fold. First, create a blog around your keyword, “internet marketing help”. Now load it up with relevant information and specific unique content and do your best to help them solve their problem. Next, set up your own Squidoo lens on the subject matter and also have several social networking accounts such as Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. Can you see where this is going?

3. Site Promotion – SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

So far, we’ve talked about how effective internet marketing and search engine optimization work together. SEO is a concept online and affiliate marketers use to increase their ranking with the search engine results. Strategic SEO will bring you to the top of the pile. The truth of the matter is the higher up you are on Google, the more you will be found by your customers. When is the last time you went beyond the third page of results when you were using Google? Never would be my guess!

Once again, another crucial key in internet marketing help is this: Unique content and Quality links are essential to your website. You may feel your head spinning at times from trying to implement all of the SEO tips you hear, but never forget to put the two of these at the top of your list.

The majority of marketers do not take the time to create a unique article and most of the time they just copy somebody’s articles. Do not take this approach whatever you do! At the very least, you should look at finding original PLR articles with rich content for your site. Google is a bit persnickety about content that looks old and used up. Google prefers fresh stuff. The biggest problem with writing your own articles up has been the immense amount of time it takes to write and then submit them individually to the directories.

4. Sell Your Own Versus The Affiliate Product

Will you offer affiliate products or sell your own products online. Certainly a personal question you’ll want to address and consider: is there is a market for your own stuff. How can you know? Let’s assume you want to sell clay teapots. There must be a good a market for this product, right? Go back to the WordTracker Keyword tool and see what pops up for “clay teapots” – only one search per day on average.

If you will gander on up the search results though, you can see that “clay flower pots” is doing nicely with 68 hits per day. Possibly better, there are other people actually on the lookout for “hangers for clay pots”.

At this point, you simply adjust your direction and begin to focus on “clay flower pots” and or their hangers. You have two choices here and you can either make them yourself or you can search for an applicable affiliate program. Commission Junction or Amazon are both good places to start. There are several choices available and you can find one that is right for your affiliate business.

5. More Traffic Through Internet Marketing

It is important to increase the traffic to your site or product page when you are trying to get more business online. You can use the above techniques to increase your web traffic to your site. Using desirable keywords, altering keywords and phrases and advertising through your social network can all be very helpful.

There is a great deal of information on this topic as and as we move along, I promise to visit the subject again in more detail.

6. Always – Put Your Customer First

Customers remember one thing above all others: Did they help me or not? People will return again and again to a helpful customer oriented business. If your business is helpful to its customers, they will remember. You. Continued sales come from a trusting relationship. For this reason, you need to focus your effective network marketing techniques on solving your customer’s problems.

Many summers ago while lounging by a beautiful lake, I listened to Earl Nightingale on cassette, and I am reminded of his sage advice. “Everything in the world we want to do or get done, we must do with and through people.” Or this: “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.” For something to be worthy, in my mind, we must be first honest with others and ourselves. For your provocative questions, it is my hope that you have found this article to be informative and of some help. It is impossible to discuss every effective internet marketing technique in one article. But if you will put these few internet-marketing help topics to good use, you will have a more effective and successful internet business.

Symbols Are Only Concepts: Trust Your Own Instincts

A chandelier light fixture got its start as a simple way of increasing candle output. Chandelier light fixtures were designed to spread the light of a candle throughout a room. This was done by placing crystals in front of the flame. The crystals sparkled and refracted the light and sent it about the room often casting small rainbows as the crystal took on qualities of a prism. The chandelier was a tool, a slave of its owner. As light sources turned to gas and electric, the chandelier lost its function, but interestingly increased its status. The tool turned into a symbol, and the symbol reflected not light but status. That is what occurs with many things in our world. The car was once simply a tool for transportation. Today it is a way to measure another persons worth. Clothes once simply kept us warm or protected from the elements. As civilization developed they became a way to determine class and social standing. People have relied on symbols as a way to easily identify and classify the world around it.

It is in this easy classification that the real value gets lost. A famous wine reviewer once set out a variety of wines for people to taste. In the first session the wine and its price was known to the taster. The most expensive bottles garnered the highest scores in the taste test. Then the critic brought in new tasters only this time he switched the bottles around. Now the wines that were perceived to be the most expensive received the highest score. Even a wine that nearly tasted like vinegar did above average. Finally, the critic set the wines out without bottle or price and asked people to judge them. He noticed two things immediately. First, people became much less certain and had to try the wines over and over again. Finally, when the judging was finished he discovered that the assessment of the wines was much more accurate. Some of the less expensive wines were in fact better than the $40.00 dollar bottles.

With no clues, people were required to trust their own instincts. The critic concluded that most people had a sophisticated palette but failed to trust themselves. Trusting oneself is a lesson that many people learn time and time again. They might have an feeling about something but trust the expert instead of themselves.

There are countless stories of people getting into trouble because they didn’t trust the nagging feeling in their stomach. A lot of folks who are struggling to keep their homes or who have already lost their homes mention that something didn’t feel right but they ignored their instincts and signed the papers. A lot of patients have said they knew the doctor was wrong but didn’t push the issue.

Experts are there to provide information, skill and assist in making decisions. The problem is too many people abdicate their own participation in the decision making process. A doctor, consultant, or advisor doesn’t want to make a decision for someone else. Most people have good instincts but forget to use them. Listening to instinct is a skill worth honing.

Connor R. Sullivan recently searched the internet for a chandelier light fixture for a kitchen and dining room remodeling job he and his wife are completing. His wife found the perfect chandelier light fixtures for the kitchen and dining room.
