Which Wiring Is Most Suitable For You ?
Electricity is one of the most important requirements today. New developments, our jobs, our entertainment and many other facets of our day-to-day lives depend on electricity and its many applications. In such a scenario, it is very essential to know about the different kinds of electric wires used to carry electricity and their features.
Copper wires are very famous to conduct electricity. Most commonly copper wires are used in this field. In most of the home wiring system, you will find copper wires for conducting electricity.
The main reasons for popularity of copper wires include: good conduction of electricity by these wires and flexibility of these wires. You can easily get copper wires and their cost is also considerable authentic.
Aluminum on the other hand is more cost effective. Aluminum wires can also be molded or bended as per requirement. When you will compare the availability of both aluminum and copper, you will find aluminum more available in market. But a thicker aluminum wire is required to carry a particular amount of current carried by a comparatively thin wire of copper.
One more issue with aluminum wire is electrical safety. Mainly problems occur due to overheating in these aluminum wires. This overheating could also lead to firing. To solve these problems, an aluminum wire of larger diameter can be used for commercial purpose.
Alloy is mixture of metals. Such an alloy of copper and aluminum can be used to carry electricity. These wires will be efficient as well as cheap, but these wires are used for commercial purpose and not for homes.
A metal that is best in conducting electricity is silver. But in general this metal is very costly and you can not mold it according to your need. Therefore, commonly this metal is avoided to be used for the purpose of carrying electricity.
Silver wires are preferred for audio and video devices where signal travels via these wires. The reason behind this is that these wires help in better transmission of signals. But the use of silver wires makes them very costly. To reduce the cost, you can add some copper to it but like this, signal quality goes down.
