Twenty-five million Filipinos were attracted to bet on the largest pot ever in the history of Philippine lottery. The pot was estimated to have reached its largest as of February 22, 2009 exceeding all other records. A wide variety of Filipinos from long time bettors to first time bettors, hope to emulate the construction worker from Novaliches, Quezon City, who won an estimated of 249 million pesos in the 6/49 Philippine Lotto. The Philippine government runs the Philippine lotto through the PCSO (Philippine Charity sweepstakes office).

If we use statistics to find out ones chances winning the 6/49 Philippine Lotto the numbers will show how slim those chances are. There are six numbers which will be randomly chosen from a group of 49 digits and the odds of getting the right digit is 10,068,347,520. This is computed as follows, 49x48x47x46x45x44 = 10,068,347,520. This means that ones chances of winning the Philippine 6/49 lotto is one in 10 billion.

I do not have any liking to gambling nor do I have any plan to bet in the future. I am only blogging about this is because of the statistics and the chaos involved in it. With near to impossible chances of winning the lottery, you may ask what fool proof ways of winning the Philippine lottery? Well, for now, I came up of two ways to do it.

1.) Invest all your wealth on all possible combinations – To put it simply, bet on all 10 billion combinations by spending around 201 billion Philippine pesos at P 20 per combination bought. Now since you have betted on all possible combinations you will surely win the lottery.

But before you even consider investing your billions in the lottery consider the following. 1.)P 320 million doesn’t always come around. 2.) P 320 million is 627 times less than 201 billion which means you have to win 627 times more to at least recover your cost. 3.) It also does not guarantee that you will be the sole winner. So investing in all possible combinations does guarantee winning the lottery but profiting from it is no doubt unprofitable.

2.) List all possible combinations for investment aside from gambling and invest on it. – According to my barber he has betted in the Philippine lotto faithfully for seven years already. Yet in those seven years he has never won a single peso. Every year he spends nearly P 7, 000 for betting. In the span of seven years that is roughly P 49, 000 spent in gambling alone.

But if he had placed that P 7, 000.00 per year in a time deposit account with an interest of 1.25 to 2.25 % per annum, his money would have probably grown to around P 48, 000 or more after seven years.

Furthermore, if he had invest that P 7, 000.00 in stocks wisely chosen, just like Warren Buffet, his money would have yielded more than P 89,000+ (15 % compounded return per annum) to a staggering P 160,000+. (30 % compounded return per annum)

So those are my secret formula to win the lotto. To all gamblers, “Good Luck” (I don’t believe in it though) you are going to need lots of it.
