What better accessory than a chandelier lamp to give your outdated home a new look without breaking the bank? You don’t have to purchase a brand new lighting fixture or throw your old one away. Simply replace the lamp shades and turn the look of your room inside out to give it a different personality and ambiance. It is actually one of the easiest ways of updating your lighting fixture and you don’t even have to take the whole lighting system down. All you do is take out the old and tired looking shades and replace them with brand new ones that will not only brighten the room considerably but also surprise you with the difference it makes to the whole set up.

These lamp shades can be bought separately in many different colors, designs and fabrics and the range is so vast and varied that you will be spoiled for choice. From the simple linens to dainty florals and silks, paper, leather, metal or in mixed fabrics, adorned with beads, sequins, crystals, lace and ribbons, pleated, crimped or ruffled, these breathtakingly beautiful shades will throw you away with their remarkable colors and styles. Keep in mind however, that the shade you choose should complement the frame of the fixture as otherwise the whole affect will belost. Not only that, the shape of the frames also should be a perfect fit for the shades. Don’t forget to take the rest of the décor, accessories and the color scheme in the room into consideration when buying the lamp shades.

The lamp shade you select should also depend on the type of chandeliers you have. Is it in bronze or gold plated? Could it be an Antler chandelier which will look good with a colorful jungle theme for its shade or even an Art Deco style that will go with a contemporary design in shades? You can be innovative and bold in your choice, but always tasteful and never over the top. Too many embellishments can make the fixture look garish and over powering whereas a simple classic design will bring more elegance to a room. Let your chandelier lamp be a statement of your personal style

There are times that couples choose to get married, not in the sanctity of the four corners of the church, but rather, outside. This can be done in a garden, a beach wedding , or other sceneries that would perfectly fit the union of two souls. However, different backgrounds and themes also make for different wedding decorations all throughout, and as such, the centerpieces for weddings of this kind will certainly be different.

Here are some tips to help those who are having a hard time choosing wedding centerpieces for their outdoors weddings.

  • For floral wedding decorations and centerpieces, it is best to go with seasonal flowers, or flowers that are able to match the location, theme and season. For example, fall wedding centerpieces go well with weddings held during the fall season. In line with this, it is best to discuss and collaborate with the florists, so that the proper flowers, as well as their arrangements, can be settled. This avoids confusion during the wedding day itself, as well as will help cut costs, especially since more often than not, seasonal flowers will be used.
  • Expect winds, so, use hurricane lamps, fishbowls, lanterns, or other glass vases that are able to prevent the candles from being unlit by the wind.
  • Fruits that are also in season are also very good decorative pieces. Make sure that they are able to match the flowers, or other decorations that they are complementing. They also make very good wedding centerpieces even when alone. One of the more common fruit wedding centerpieces are pomegranates, limes, apples, grapes, lemons, limes and oranges.
  • Make sure that they decorations and centerpieces match the formality and theme of the wedding. For example, gold-plated vases, do not really suit  beach weddings without tuxedos.
  • The sky is the limit with wedding centerpieces. Be imaginative. Be creative. Doing those will certainly make the wedding day much more worthwhile to remember.
