There is something about a tiny 1 bedroom apartment that captures the essence of homeyness like no other kind of apartment can. When I moved into a little apartment I had rented that had just been created of spare space in a larger apartment in the middle of town, I thought at first that it was a step down – a sacrifice I had to make to be closer to my work. The bedroom was 8 feet long and wide, and the living room was not much bigger. The whole apartment was a grand 275 square feet. Still, the overwhelming cuteness of what was possible here sold me on it. The kitchen was pocket handkerchief-sized, big enough for a refrigerator and for two people to stand in, and the bathroom was the size of a shower cabinet (a shower cabinet large enough to fit two people, which to my mind, was an essential). I kind of fancy myself an amateur designer, and I felt I needed to finally show what I was capable of here.
The philosophy you need to go by decorating a 1 bedroom apartment is to let the beauty of the walls and floors bring in all the beauty. Everything else needs to be mercilessly cut down on. Everything needs to be perfectly organized around the house, because there is no worse a space stealer than clutter or poor organizing. Every room in the house when I moved in into the apartment was just a spare white box. I started by taking out the industrial looking windows and replacing them with beautiful antique ones. I put in window niches, antique doors and moldings around every door and window. The overall theme was to go for a prewar ambience.
The problem with leaving a spare white box as it is, is, that no matter how much stuff you go and take out, somehow, everything still looks quite cluttered. I know that most people will tell you that you need to pick light colors verging on white to make a small space appear larger: I find that it doesn’t really do that. Warmer colors, a mild purple, a beautiful maroon – these colors tend to actually, transport you to a state of mind where you feel that you are in a much better place than you actually are. Over one end of my bedroom, I used wallpaper with a beautiful Eastern design. It really expands the space I have. That’s the only indulgence in the whole place. In a small 1 bedroom apartment, you always had to move about in the same small space a lot. Having rugs and carpets means you’ll have to keep in mind all the time that you don’t want to trip, and it can be really bothersome. I painted the floors with real finesse to bring out the effect of the richly inlaid floor, and got the most comments for this.
And then there was the storage space – plenty of storage space in shelves hung on the walls kept all my stuff where it belonged. The effect was to bring a lot more space into my little apartment.

It’s a plain and simple fact – employers trying to hire new workers want more ability, more talent and more qualifications for their money. When it comes to hiring IT support staff, one-trick ponies no longer charm the employer. You need absolutely dazzling skills on the desktop, with networking and with servers – “comprehensive” is a word they use all the time. Of course, there’s one way to prove ability in the IT marketplace – that way is through attaining industry certifications. Let’s look a little more closely at one of the most valuable names in the industry – Cisco certification.
When you start down the road of Cisco-recognized industry certifications, the first stripe you earn will be the Cisco certification known as the CCNA – the Cisco Certified Network Associate. Do you get anything with this certification? Of course, Cisco doesn’t actually teach you anything – if you have learned everything there is to know about the basics of networking – all about Layer 2 switching concepts and protocols, the OSI reference model and so on – Cisco certifies the fact that you know what you know. You are recognized as having the sophistication in networking that you need to do a basic network installation and to troubleshoot problems at a Grade 1 level.
Almost everything that goes into a successful CCNA Cisco certification focuses on the basics of routing and switching. The successful candidate to such a certification exam needs to see or understand how networking is conceived of by each device on a network. He or she needs to understand what it is that makes a packet of information move from one network appliance to another, and they must be able to see ethernet frames and IP packets. There is no memorization involved of course in success at this exam – all you need is a serious understanding. You need to know how ethernet devices work, how Layer 2 switches take information and hand it over to the next. It’s all about deep understanding, it’s completely useful, and it gets you certified.
What makes a Cisco certification so special that other authorities don’t match just as well? Usually, other industry certifications don’t really make candidates taking the exam actually demonstrate that they know. On a Cisco certification exam, a candidate needs to actually use a simulator to configure and get networking installations working. That’s pretty serious stuff, and it’s no wonder that a Cisco certification is the gold standard.

Any time you go on eBay or any other online marketplace looking for designer accessories, you are likely to find such an embarrassment of riches there – Christian Dior, Fendi, Chanel -they are everywhere. And then, just as you are about to click Buy Now on what seems like a steal great on a Christian Dior Cannage Tote that you’ve had your eye on ever since it came on pre-order, an unworthy thought comes up in your mind. This Christian Dior purse isn’t like those bags in Sex and the City are they? These don’t come out of the back of an old Cadillac in a seedy part of LA that belongs to someone who makes a so-so living importing fakes from China do they? You do want a real Christian Dior purse for the money you are paying. How do you tell a fake Christian Dior purse from the real deal? There are a few “tells” if you want to be able to see where the fiction ends and the genuine article begins. Read on for a few of the best ways that let you spot a fake when you see one.
The price of your Christian Dior purse could conceivably be a great indicator of its genuineness. Any time you find a great designer handbag going for less than $500, you should have your anti-counterfeit antenna perk right up. Original Dior bags going for less than $1500 are completely suspect. But price can’t ever be a dependable indicator of genuineness or otherwise. Some counterfeiters have products that are so hard to tell apart from the real thing at a casual glance that they will try to use reverse psychology on you. They’ll price their products like they were the real thing, only a little cheaper. There really is no substitute for actual intimate knowledge of what a real Dior bag is supposed to look like. Let’s little closer at that beautiful handbag that is to become part of your life soon, shall we?
If anywhere on your new Christian Dior purse is a sign that places your handbag’s place of origin as anywhere other than Italy, that should be your tipoff right away. How do you find out where it was made? Inside your bag is a little tag made of leather that mentions on the underside the fact that it is made in Italy. Look for a little serial number attached to the tag too. That’s a number that you should see matching the one on the card you get when you buy your handbag. But let’s take a walk through your fine Christian Dior handbag to gain a little familiarity with every part of this product of fine design.
Have you seen fakes with the interior lining tricked out with beautiful Christian Dior monograms? That’s your dead giveaway that you’re dealing with a fake. The real thing always has plain black nylon lining, and the Christian Dior label is marked in there just one. As with all of your designer purchases though, you’ll stay ahead of the counterfeiters if you keep educating yourself in the subject of what makes a real designer product the unique work of art that it is.
