Rome is an extremely beautiful country which is the capital of Italy and one of the largest and most populated cities of this country. 1. The Porter Fountain
This is one of the most exotic fountains located in Rome that was built between 1587 and 1598. It has a great water movement system and a marvelous design that really make this fountain very famous all around the world. It has a great history and a fascinating design and contains the structure of a water-seller in a renowned costume.
2. The Trevi fountain
The Trevi fountain also known as the Fontana di Trevi is the most gorgeous fountain in Rome. This fountain gets the water from the Salone Springs that is located in the historic center of Rome. The central figure of this structure is Neptune, the God of Sea who is riding two sea horses. It is believed that if you are visiting this historical structure, you should throw a coin in the water with your back to the fountain.
3. The Fountain of Triton
This is one of the most splendid structures of Rome that was constructed in 1642 by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. This great structure can really mesmerize your senses and it contains the figures of a sea monster that is half man and half fish. The monster is seated on the valves of an open shell which shows the great imagination of the artists who created this structure.
4. The Fountain of Neptune
The Fountain of Neptune is also known as the Calderai because it is located very close to the workshops of the artists who made structures with copper. It contains the figure of Neptune fighting with a sea monster.
5. The Fountain of Books
The Fountain of Books is built very close to the complex of Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza where the University of Rome was located earlier. It has three water levels with a deer’s head in between.
6. Fountain of the moor
This fountain was constructed by Ottavio Gracchi in 1570 and is located in Piazza del Popolo. It contains a large basin which has been be carefully engraved to resemble the other parts of the fountain. The structure is beautifully lit at night which makes it s a very exotic sight.
