How Can I Improve My Vertical Jump – Workouts To Jump Higher

Alot of athletes and mainly basketball players will think to themselves “How can I improve my vertical jump?” There is alot of different things suggested that a person can do to make their vertical jump higher. The 3 things that are known to help your jump are weightlifting, plyometrics training, and rest.

Weight lifting is a necessity in any training program, any extra strength that a person can gain will give them that little bit of edge to take on the competition. Building up your strength will increase your ability in your vertical jump. If you do not add strength training to your workout you will not be able to improve your vertical jump.

A series of repetitive exercises is known as plyometrics, repeating jumping adds strength to a persons body, and that will get your body ready to jump even higher.

What most people don’t know is that you really should give your body time to rest to build strength and muscle. If you don’t give your body a chance to rest after working out and weightlifting you are not giving it the chance to reach it’s highest level.

It is usually a good idea to work out 3 to 4 days a week. You should rest your body between each day and your workouts should not last more than 60 minutes. Even though this does not sound like much time for a workout, your body will work better with rest. You will notice the difference in your body after about 5 to 7 days of doing your routine.

No two people are alike, when they ask “How can I improve my vertical jump?” they need to be motivated and not think there is a quick program out there that will help them. To get the vertical jump you want you need to be patient and make sure that your program is individualized for you. Watch out for programs that state they can guarantee you the highest vertical jump, not all programs are going to work for you.
