Home Or Small Business Printers

February 8th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Printers are in just about every home these days. They’re capable of multi-tasking jobs such as sending faxes, scanning, printing color pictures and documents, and are compact and cost effective.

There are those that can scan film negatives and then print them from slides. Another perk is that a lot of printers these days are wireless so they can be placed anywhere in the home or discreetly hidden in another area of the room, or even be put in another room.

Just about all of them also have the ability to make good quality color prints, as good as a photo lab. Those with a color printer that prints photos won’t have to go to a photo lab for prints if they don’t want to. The only drawback is the ink will need frequent replacing and paper will need to be bought. Ink can be pricey but it varies from each machine. Some may use toner as well.

These days though, most of them are made so that only the ink and perhaps a photo cartridge will need replacing. You can also buy cartridges that have been refurbished, but they might not perform as good in the printer. When printing photos, it’s always a good idea to use the same paper as the printer manufacturer to ensure top quality results.

Before buying your printer, do some research and also evaluate your needs to narrow down what type you might need. Those with home businesses, for instance, might want something that does all in one, such as the ability to copy, fax and print.

Yet others are interested in printing their photo collection. They might want one that can print good quality color photos on photo paper, and that can scan old photos and negatives to make photos so they can archive their collection.

And others just need a basic home printer that can print documents when needed, such as directions, personal documents, and emails. There are printers that do just the basic functions and a little more that are great for home use.

Either way printers are very economical for those wanting one in the home or their small business. There are printers that cost much more but they are generally for those looking to run professional print jobs, such as photographers and graphic designers who need high quality images, or larger than normal print sizes.
