A particular singer that has put out great albums because of his loyal fans is Radric Davis. Radric (Gucci Mane) Davis has been crowned king of the southern rappers. Gucci Mane knows better than anyone that people start to hate when you are successful. Since there are still haters of his music, he simply shrugs them off and keeps doing his thing. Radric uses the accumulation of hate as motivation and soulful style in his songs.
A lot of people are slowed down by the amount of hate that they may receive, but not Gucci. He has had to compete for the top spot in the south with many other artists. Even though he may have a lot of haters, he also has a lot of fans. Most people would agree with the fact that he has a lot more fans than haters. Even though he hasn’t reached superstar status like Kanye West, he still tries hard to always be his best.
People will debate on the fact that he has not been a good leader for people to look up to. Yet, more often, people will claim that he displays great leadership. The talk will continue about his lyrics being healthy for many moons to come. Gucci Mane could care less what people think about his rhyming. In reality, he is a very talented person for being able to get up and record music that millions love.
Going from growing up in a very poor community to being regarded as a role model is a huge step. He has amassed millions of dollars touring, setting up his own label, and selling albums. He is not the biggest selling rap artist of all time, but he is certainly trying to appeal to more people. In fact, he even worked with new artists like WALE and Skateboard P to further increase his exposure in 2009.
The year 2009 proved to be one of his best years yet. He opened his mind up to working with new artists and it really paid off for him. Even though he collects a little bit of money for appearing on tracks with others, that’s not his focus. His focus is to make good music and get his name out there so that people understand him.
As you may very well know, he is probably one of the most misunderstood artists in the rap community. A lot of people didn’t understand his slang when he first entered the music scene. He talked a lot about things that he saw in his neighborhood like “flipping bricks.” People had no clue what he meant by this initially. Finally, people started to understand his slang and he became a hip hop sensation. His success took a lot of time, but he is happy that he was able to work as hard as he did.
