You can make two curtains for one window. One of these curtains should be made out of thick fabric while the other one should be made out of the thin fabric. When you want some privacy for yourself, you can draw thick curtains; otherwise, you can push them aside, and draw on the thin ones instead, so that they let air, and light in the room.

The curtains you choose depend on your need, and your taste. If your first concern is privacy, then you must use the thick fabric for curtains that provide complete privacy, and it would keep out the noise, and disturbance. However, the one thing that should be kept in mind in doing so is that you must choose the curtains that go best with the rest of your dcor.
