Clever Wedding Guest Book Alternatives

No comments August 23rd, 2010

The secret to a memorable and successful wedding is in the wedding accessories. One perfect example is the guest book. There is the traditional satin or silk bound, cream colored book with numbered and lined pages complete with instructions on that for which the bride and groom are asking such as the address and phone number in addition to the name of each guest. On the other end of the spectrum, a simple notebook has been known to be used as a guest book. These are not the only options. There are many guest book alternatives that can serve as the one detail that makes a wedding remarkable.

A guest book should reflect the couple’s special style. Being creative is the way to achieve this. Many couples have created their own guest books. One particular couple gathered together 30 sheets of paper in varying shades of the wedding’s color scheme: purple. Then, using cardboard wrapped in royal purple satin, they bound the book with white ribbon tied in bows at the top and bottom of the book. The guests found a beautiful handmade guest book with a feather quill and a bottle of purple ink. The ensemble got rave reviews.

It should be mentioned that the guest book need not be a book at all. Another option is a set of stationary. Each guest writes out a card including a signature. These are then placed in a large fish bowl or decorated box. Instructions for specific information are written on a piece of the stationary. A video or audio guest book is also effective and even entertaining as long as the guests are informed that they are being filmed and for what purpose and what is expected. Any of these unique wedding accessories would be a sure way to make a wedding memorable and a complete success.

Elegant and Sophisticated Swarovski Bridal Tiaras

Many brides find their wedding day is the ultimate princess dress up day. All princesses need a tiara, but you want to make sure you look more Princess Diana and less like the Little Mermaid. Fortunately you can find some truly elegant and sophisticated Swarovski bridal tiaras.

The first thing to consider is the style of your dress. The more formal the dress, the more elaborate the tiara. Lovely though a simple headband style may be, it would be lost with an elaborately beaded gown. That beautiful sparkly stunner that weighs a full pound would completely overpower the simple garden wedding dress.

Next consider how you plan to wear your hair. Be sure to bring your tiara with you to the hairdresser when you go to try out looks for your big day. The stylist can most certainly work the headpiece into just about any style, from a formal up do, to loose, casual waves. The stylist can also help you decide how, if at all, you would wear a veil with the headpiece.

Some brides choose to have one look for their ceremony and to change into a different dress for the reception afterward. Most times the ceremony ensemble is more traditional and the reception look is more of a party dress. You may need to consider if your tiara will work for both looks, unless you are wearing two different pieces and changing your hair do between the ceremony and the party.

Choosing your bridal ensemble should be fun and exciting. Buying a higher quality piece, such as one with genuine Swarovski crystals can be an investment as such items are often considered heirlooms and are used by several generations of brides. Most of these bridal tiaras are timeless rather than trendy and are always considered elegant and sophisticated.

Fall Wedding Centerpieces – Leaves of Color

No comments August 19th, 2010

It is common nowadays to have wedding centerpieces based on the season at the time of the wedding. I suppose it makes sense – it would seem a little ridiculous to have sunflowers for a winter wedding, or would it? So, with seasonal centerpieces in mind, what kind of fall wedding centerpieces could be designed and arranged on each reception table?

Fall is a rustic season, a season without the brightness of summer or the gloom of winter. It is the season that the colors red, gold, green, brown, and yellow are ubiquitous. So what better time of year to have a wedding ceremony with the best wedding centerpieces? There really is no better time than autumn. Fall weddings are “comfortable” weddings. The weather is not hot nor is it freezing; it is the perfect weather for outside wedding photos and the colors of this time of year make it seem so much more special.

Designers and wedding planners also like fall as the season seems to inspire their individual imaginations and creative feelings. Centerpieces for a fall wedding reception usually consist of fall colors. However adding something different will enhance the table even more.

The fall colors are not the only things we see this time of the year. Fall foods – not seen so much during the rest of the year – are suddenly everywhere. Some of these vegetables and fruit are regional and therefore will give a wedding reception centerpiece a flare not seen before – indeed the best wedding centerpieces.

There are times when the centerpiece designer or wedding planner will ask the couple what the menu is for the reception. If, for example, French food will be served, then perhaps the centerpieces could have a “Fall in Paris” theme. This would also kill two birds with one stone if the honeymoon destination was also France.

All weddings planners, designers and parents have the same quandary when trying to make their daughter’s or son’s wedding day special. Centerpieces, in particular, cause a great deal of chin rubbing and head scratching as all parties want to have the best wedding centerpieces imaginable.

More often than not, the wedding centerpieces do indeed impress the guests and staff alike and if they are themed then so much the better. Indeed fall wedding centerpieces are a wonderful addition to a wedding reception.
