January 22nd, 2010 No comments

If free online dating appeals to you then you have come to the right place. Free online dating has quickly become a popular thing among many ages because it is easier for people to talk when it is through e-mail. I never understood why it was so easy for me to talk to someone that I could e-mail versus someone that was face to face.

I was always scared to try online dating because of the fear of meeting new people and because I was always afraid something would happen to me from meeting strangers. Meeting someone off the internet was just the same as meeting someone in person because they are all strangers.

Let’s face it, if you are reading this article you already know that it is very unsafe to meet a stranger in a place that is not occupied by people. If you do not know this person and you meet them and they turn out to be some of the people you only hear on the news then you might be in trouble.

I believe some online dating sites are crazy for charging because I do not think they are any better than the free sites. Most people will not join a site that charges because it is to expensive or because they do not have a credit card. I have joined a dating site and they charged me twenty dollars for one month and at the same time I was also a member of a free site.

Online dating is great because it allows you to be able to meet people that you might not have ever known existed. I have used online dating and I have had success because I am now married to the man that I met online. I joined a free dating site and I was able to find many interesting people and even made friends with some of them.

I finally was able to connect with the man that is now my husband and we have been married for ten years. At first I was scared to meet someone that I did not know, but I met them in a shopping mall each time and this made me feel safe because there were many people around.

You want to make sure you are safe and no matter how safe the site is that you met this person on, you can not always trust this one hundred percent. You should always meet the person in a busy area, maybe a store or inside somewhere that has a few people.

Make sure you never leave alone with that person and you get to know them before you get alone with them. This is how people get hurt or even killed and it is important to protect yourself as much as you are able. Also make sure that you never let your guard down even if you have been on several dates before. Just because you think you know someone does not mean that you do.

Why pay to locate a date? Look for those free online dating sites and locate true love. With a 100% totally free online dating service you may be in luck. Head online today and locate that special person!

The Gospel, What It Truly Means

January 13th, 2010 No comments

A few years ago during the Baptist Youth Congress, I overheard that a young man was being taught about the gospel by a Bible Student. After a few minutes of discussion, they bowed their heads and prayed the ‘sinner’s prayer’. When they were finished, the Bible student asked him if he was already saved. The young man was taken aback and answered “Saved? Is that being saved?” In my mind, the young man did not even have an idea of what the Gospel truly means.

Though sad it may seem, this scene can be witnessed many times even in the most conservative churches. The true message of the real Gospel has been transformed into a weak version of “easy believism”. This type of gospel undermines God’s plan of salvation and therefore the person hearing the weak version of the gospel cannot comprehend the real commitment behind accepting God’s plan of salvation.

Yet in all these, God has been active in raising men who can stand firm, unwavering, and dedicated to accurately share the truth of what the Gospel is truly about. One of those men that God is presently using is Dr. John MacArthur. God has been mightily using John MacArthur in communicating the truths of His Word.

Dr. John MacArthur’s book, “The Gospel according to Jesus” presents how Scripture demands for a rejection of a weak version of the gospel, which has become very common and becoming more popular even among the circles of conservative Christians. “The Gospel according to Jesus” challenges Christians to revert back to Jesus’ way of teaching the Gospel, to how the Apostles emulated His way of teaching the Gospel, and to how our early church fathers and reformers preserved and preached about it.

The “Gospel according to Jesus” illustrates what the real Gospel is all about. The book itself talks about the faulty ideas that have spread wildly among churches today, which is receiving Christ but neglecting Christ’s claim over ones life and assuming to be a follower of Christ but has never turned his back from sinning. The book also showed that Jesus required a humbled spirit without any conditions to surrender to his authority. This is what the Gospel is all about.

This book, “The Gospel according to Jesus” first came out of publication in 1988. After more than 20 years since it was published, this book still brings so much controversy among fundamental churches around the world. It also deals about “Lordship Salvation” and how the Gospel requires this type of salvation. A person can never be saved until he has resolved within himself that Jesus must be both his Lord and Saviour. This truth can be best summarized in our Saviour’s words, which is found in Matthew 10:38. It says “He who does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me”.

About a few days ago last month, I received the revised and expanded 20th anniversary edition of “The Gospel according to Jesus” from Grace to You Ministries. I was able to completely finished the book on the very first day of this year (2009) during my New Year vacation with my wife’s family. After reading the book, I gave my copy (just like some of my John MacArthur books) of the “Gospel according to Jesus” to my father-in-law.

Such a great way to begin the New Year! Again I was reminded what the Gospel truly means. The Bible tells us that salvation is by grace and faith alone. When we are truly saved, our good deeds not only testify of that change in us but affirm our salvation as well. The apostle Paul supports this truth when he wrote in Romans 15:4 “Whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction that THROUGH PERSEVERANCE and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope”

Before I end this book review allow me to share some words of wisdom from the Prince of Preachers, Charles Haddon Spurgeon. He was one of the greatest preachers in the 1800s and this is what he has to say about the real Gospel. “Another proof of the conquest of a soul for Christ will be found in A REAL CHANGE OF LIFE. If the man does not life differently from what he did before, both at home and abroad, his repentance need to be repented of and his conversion is a fiction. Not only action and language, BUT SPIRIT AND TEMPER MUST CHANGE. . . There must be a harmony between the life and the profession. A Christian professes to renounce sin; and if he does not do so, his very name is an imposture. . . ” (Capitalized to emphasized major points)
