Overcoming Thundering Club Music
Many people find themselves having trouble communicating over the loud, repetitive sounds of the night club. If you’re not used to the noise it can be hard to think, let alone communicate!
Use this technique to break through the loudness of any club, to win over strangers and women.
Level 1: Get Comfortable in the Noise
The key is to make yourself comfortable around loud playing music. Find a stereo you can use with out bothering your neighbors or friends. Put in some music that you can play at a very loud level. Music that you find in a club, is more beneficial for this exercise because it prepares you better for what to expect in the club. Play the music really loud for 5 minutes. At the same time that music is playing, stand 5 to 10 ft away and try talking to yourself the duration of a single song.
This exercise gets you more comfortable with thinking and speaking over loud music. The ability to think and speak clearly, while keeping your story on track, is a very impressive trait that others will notice. Practice this technique 2x per week before you go out.
Once you have become more comfortable around loud music, it will be time to move on to step 2.
Level 2: Storytelling and Listening
Write up, find, or memorize a story that your partner has never heard before. Stand across from each other and crank the music up. One of you will be the storyteller and the other will be the listener. The storyteller will try to communicate their story over the blasting music. The listener will try to figure out what the story is all about.
Once both of you have taken your turn telling your stories over the loud music, its time to turn the music off and tell each other what the other persons story was about.
The storyteller and listener should discuss ways that you could use your body language and tonality to more accurately tell the story. Use your hands, make gestures, or change your facial expressions to match feelings or events in the story. Emphasize specific words that are important to the meaning of the story. Tell the story again. Then change roles.
Your goal from this exercise, is to learn how to communicate an interesting story to a group of people in a loud night club.
The second lesson is how to listen to and interpret a story in a loud environment. This is especially important when a girl is telling you a story. The more you can hear, the better your response could be.
One of the worst things you can do in a noisy club is to “peck” when you can’t hear what someone is saying. When you can’t hear someone, most guys will lean in closer to the speaker.
Being aware that repeatedly leaning in and invading a women’s space, looks bad and conveys lower value to everyone else in the room.
Its up to you to master these exercises. Take you time and remember that practice makes perfect. With enough practice anything is possible.
