Almost half of the entire population of tennis players at one point or the other are likely to suffer some sort of injury from this given sport and a large number of these said players will get afflicted by a distinct and troubling injury of the arm popularly known as tennis elbow or in scientific terms, lateral epicondylitis. Tennis elbow is the end result of the deterioration of the fiber tissues of the elbow due to the repetitive and forceful use of the dominant arm.

There are many factors that can contribute to the onset of this debilitating condition. For instance, improper swinging movement can make you susceptible to this arm disorder. Using the wrong racket can also make you a likely candidate in acquiring tennis elbow. A low range of mobility in your back is also another factor as well as poor flexibility and faulty playing techniques.

If you have an idea as to what the determining factors are that can cause this arm injury, it would be a lot easier for you to single out the ones which are causing that nagging pain that you feel. The pain that a tennis elbow sufferer feels will typically start from the outer parts of the elbow and will extend to the arms and then the wrist. Although the pain will eventually go away as soon as you layoff from this sport; however, it will simply return the instance you start doing the exact same movements that brought you this condition in the first place.

The best way in order to ultimately get rid of this condition is to perform tennis elbow exercises. Exercises for tennis elbow will increase your flexibility, range of motion and it will also help ease that unbearable pain. There are many of these exercises and one great resource for finding them is on the Internet.

Apart from exercises, the use of tennis elbow braces also comes highly recommended. These braces are great since they keep your arm protected and they also reduce the swelling and discomfort associated with this condition.

Colon Health is Attainable

June 2nd, 2010 No comments

One of the most popular forms of cancer in men and women is colon cancer. The number one cause for excess body fat in men, women and children is a neglected colon, as it is with many other health and disease issues.

Colon health could so easily be remedied by paying attention to a few common things in one’s every day life, when it comes to the choices we make in terms of eating, drinking, exercising. Our daily routine can help us to maintain the best health possible for our bodies.  How to go about maintaining a healthy colon, however, is something that should be looked at as carefully as possible.

One simplistic way to think about the colon, and possibly one you might never have thought of before, is that our colon is basically like a sewer line for our bodies.  Just like a regular sewer, the waste must be expelled or there is potential for build up, which can be quite messy, and of course toxic. Such is the case for our own bodies, since this is exactly what happens when we are not properly evacuating our colon.

People with normal colon activity will generally evacuate once in the morning (2-4 feet of intestinal waste) and once in the afternoon/early evening (1.2 feet of intestinal waste). Constipation plays a huge role in ill colon health, for this means the body is not expelling waste normally, thus keeping it inside where it becomes more and more toxic, and risks for both diseases and even infection are possible.

Another side effect of a malfunctioning colon is nutritional deficiency, since fecal matter can become backed up and therefore not pass on the nutritional qualities in food.

Additionally, a poor diet that does not include healthy fruits and vegetables necessary to maintain good colon health will produce an even worse effect of fecal matter, including obstructions which can lead to appendicitis and other such conditions.

Build up of fecal matter induces toxins. Over time the body and blood can become diseased, thus causing what is called autointoxication as well as malnutrition.  Among the toxins created are phenols and cresols, both of which are cancer-promoting. Additional carcinogens are created which can also contribute to cancer.  The body has a very tough time fighting this disease, since the blood is already polluted, hence a vicious cycle ensues whereby the body will constantly seek better weapons to fight the onslaught of toxins.

Of course, poor colon health can lead to other organ malfunction, ultimately, for what is releasing as toxins from the colon is absorbed in other areas of the body.  Other issues with poor colon health include not only constipation bit diverticulitis, where part of the colon called the diverticula becomes inflamed. This is happening more often, largely due to poor diet.  Besides eating a better diet that includes plenty of water, fiber, fruits and vegetable, a high enema can be performed at home, although you should consult your doctor prior to doing this.
