Hooded Sweatshirts For Men – Why You Need One!

August 19th, 2010 No comments

Have you seen the latest craze in the world of fashion lately? It seems that everything is all about low price men’s sweatshirts as of late. You can’t enter one clothing store without seeing racks and racks full of sweatshirts. It’s entirely true that they are very popular these days. It’s probably because they’re all warm and comfy!

Sweatshirts come in many shapes, colors, sizes, styles and designs. But by far the most popular kind of shirt, are hoodies such as this Carhartt heavyweight pullover hooded men’s sweatshirt. The most popular kind of shirt among the hoodies, is the pullover shirt. A pullover has no zipper, you just pull it over your head. The absence of a zipper makes the shirt more popular.

But zippers, on the other hand, also have their good uses. Are you a physically active person? Do you play sports a couple of times a week? Then you can’t live without a zipper hoodie. The zipper will allow you to cool down or heat up, depending on whether you are currently too cold or too hot. Zip up for warmth. Zip down for coolness.

Because of the fact that hoodies come in so many different kinds of colors, there is a great one to be found for everybody. I prefer dark colors myself, such as brown, black and cobalt blue. But hoodies also come in bright yellow, green, orange and red. If you like to be the center of attention, then a bright color is good for you.

Hoodies can be very comfortable to wear, but only if you get them in the correct size. I’ve made the mistake of ordering a hoodie online, only to find out that it wasn’t the right size. I did order it in my own size, but it turned out that some of those hoodies on the web run a little larger than advertised. In retrospect, I guess I should’ve read the reviews that were listed below the shirt when I bought it online. They indeed stated that that particular shirt ran larger. I’m a little more careful when buying hoodies online now. And if you want to be comfortable in yours, I suggest that you be careful as well!

Selecting White Gold Wedding Rings And Bands

August 16th, 2010 No comments

White gold wedding rings make beautiful alternatives to yellow gold. Combined with diamonds or other well-selected gemstones, white gold can be a unique alternative to the more traditional yellow variety and it combines very well with certain gemstones.

Gold is available in many different colors and shades. Yellow gold is the most popular but white gold is an increasingly favored alternative. Because pure gold itself is not hard enough for making jewelry, it is blended with a variety of metals to create a gold alloy. To make white gold, pure yellow-colored gold is mixed with platinum or palladium, or sometimes silver. A process called rhodium plating is used to make the product bright and to give it its white shade. The plating also protects the jewelry from damage and from everyday wear and tear. In the past nickel used to be mixed with gold to create white gold, but as so many people today experience allergic reactions to jewelry that contains nickel, palladium and platinum are now the most popular metals used.

People who like the color of silver but are looking for something more valuable and special often prefer white gold. It is also cheaper than some other metals, such as platinum, and it is a durable material for jewelry making. White gold can also be combined with yellow and other shades of gold (there is even gold with a pinkish, rose-colored shade) and a mix of different types of gold can create a unique effect. White gold looks very good with certain gemstones, especially some of the light green, blue or pink gems. Amethysts, aquamarines, blue topaz and citrines are often used in white gold wedding bands.

When shopping for white gold wedding rings you will come across a variety of different categories, with 10K, 14K  and 18 karat gold being the most common, rarely will you find 22k white gold. The higher the karat (K) number is, the more pure gold the piece of jewelry contains: a 14K white gold jewelry piece has more gold that is pure in its content than a 10K one. The higher the karat, the more expensive a piece of gold jewelry will also be.

Be Funky with a Peace Sign Necklace

August 11th, 2010 No comments

Interested in making your own craft? Jewelry making is one of the most common projects that fashionable women have because of the easy and unique results that making one has. You only need a few jewelry tools and materials. To make a peace sign necklace, you can make use of polymer clay for the peace sign pendant and a cord or maybe a chain made out of beads for the necklace. It all really depends on your own creativity, a few cans of paint, and an assortment of a variety of clay colors to choose and you will have a peace sign necklace that’s good to go.

How to start making a Peace Sign Necklace?

- Cut out a small portion from the block of polymer clay. Knead the clay with the use of your hands to soften it out just enough to work on.

- Next, take the softened clay and roll it with another colored clay. Roll each color through the pasta machine. Put two colors together and run them through the pasta machine. This is so that you can have a multi colored clay. Do this repeatedly over and over until you have a very colorful sheet of clay. You can opt for single colored clay. Example if you take the color aquamarine to have an aquamarine necklace.

- Take your template which is open in the center on the multi colored clay and cut out the circle sign shape carefully using your knife for the clay. If you accidentally produce a horrible looking clay circle, you can just put it back using your fingers and start over.

- Take the next template which is a Y and put it on top of the sheet of clay. Cut it out carefully with the use of the clay knife again. Take the Y and place it upside down inside the open circle clay. Move the clay until both sides are touching together. To connect the Y and the circle more, take a clay roller and roll over the peace sign to smooth out the clay as well.

- Heat up your oven and place the peace sign clay inside. The temperature should be according to the producer’s guidelines. Once done, allow for the clay to cool. Once cooled, coat it with acrylic floor polish a few times allowing drying in between coats.

- Take your cord or chain and thread it through the clay peace sign pendant. Tie the ends together and you have a funky peace sign necklace that is good to go.
