Serato Scratch Live. What Is It?
Consisting of the Serato software and Rane manufactured hardware, the Serato Scratch Live is probably the most inovative PCDJ solution available today.
For a start, there are no more heavy record crates to hump around, from party to party, for the professional mobile DJ, which obviously makes his or her working life a lot easier to cope with. This is due to being able to convert the vinyl into a huge digital music library, which can be transported to work in a laptop or external hard drive.
There is no other digital PCDJ solution available that actually replicates scratching and mixing, with good old vinyl, than the Serato Scratch Live. The art of DJing will live on as there is no automatic synch facility, meaning the DJ stays in control – not the computer.
Control Products for the Serato Scratch Live.
Included in the Serato Scratch Live package are the Serato Vinyl and CDs. These accessories allow your audio files to be beat mixed and scratched direct from your hard drive. The various approved USB controllers (listed below) also aide the DJ to do this.
Probably the best feature though is having the ability to cue or scratch the control vinyl exactly with the digital audio file. This is achieved due to the control vinyl and control CD having a unique control signal. You really have to try it for yourself to believe it.
This is the only PCDJ product which lets the DJ really feel as if he were scratching and beat mixing vinyl.
A list of approved and certified USB controllers is included below. These are completely compatible with the Serato Scratch Live. The USB controller’s display screens are sent the track information from the software. These Scratch Serato USB controllers can be installed with a minimum of fuss.
