Decades ago when I was a kid, I know that finding someone wasn’t exactly easy. If all you had was a previous address or telephone number and the person moved, unless you knew someone who could fill you in on details, you would be hard pressed to track someone down without paying for the services of a private detective.

Many companies have online employee directories that include biographical information as well as business telephone numbers and email addresses. Even if you know where someone works and they don’t have an online employee directory for you to search, you can usually type someone’s full name and send it to the domain that their company owns.

If you’re trying to find a friend’s email address, you can try finding it on their social networking site page if they have one. You can also do a search on one of the many free people finder sites online. You will find valuable information completely free on these sites.

How To Point a Satellite Dish

February 6th, 2010 No comments

When pointing a satellite dish, it is very important that you point it directly at the satellite. There should be no obstacles between the dish and the satellite at all: no trees, houses or other buildings. The satellite signal can not pass trough these, so you have to make sure that you place your satellite dish in the right spot before you install it.

If you want to correctly install a satellite dish you are going to need a compass. You need to check the azimuth and elevation and choose a location with at least one clear view. As we mentioned before, there should be no obstacles between the dish and the satellite. If you do not know if the location you are thinking of is suitable you can always ask a satellite TV dealer for advice.

If you live in the United States you should keep in mind that the satellite is always located south of Texas. This means that is you live in Florida you will need to install the dish in a location with a clear line to the southwest. Those who live in California need a clear line towards the southeast. It all depends on your location. In the southern US states the elevation angle will have to be about 60 degrees, while in the northern ones around 30.

While you install the dish you have to make sure that the pole or tri mast assembly is vertically plumb. If it is not, aligning the dish will be difficult.

The pole mount should be securely fastened. If you do not fasten it, it can tilt, causing lots of problems. You should fasten the mount too. Installing a satellite dish can be challening the first time you try it. However, with practice, anyone can do it.
