Finding high quality children’s furniture is important to your child’s well-being. You don’t want to just buy any old children’s furniture, so consider these tips before shelling out your hard-earned money:

Planning – Before taking out your credit card, ask your child about their specific wants. Maybe they want a sports theme or are wanting something a bit more grown up.

Styling – Selections for your child’s room used to be scarce, but this has all changed. Furniture is available in a variety of styles to suit you and your child’s needs and personalities.

Colors – Is a specific color required to match current decorations in your child’s room? Assuming you’re not buying a whole bedroom package, you want to ensure whatever you buy will match. And involve your child too, let them play a part in picking their colors.

Safety – It goes without saying this should be the primary concern for any parent. How will you rest at night if you are scare about safety hazards? Does the bed frame sit too high off the ground? Are there sharp corners or sharp fasteners? Is the furniture built solid especially considering the roughness it’ll likely encounter? If an antique, is there any sign of lead paint?

Multiple Purposes – If the furniture looks goodand can also double serve as a desk or other purpose that’s even better. Most children’s bedrooms are on the small side, so wherever you can increase available space do so.

Cleanliness – Will the furniture be easy to maintain? Are there hard to reach areas? Difficult to clean fabrics?

So you’ve followed all of these steps and have located the perfect piece of kid’s bedroom furniture. But before you hand over your card, you need to think about how long this piece will need to survive. Kids grow up and so do their tastes. If you had to re-decorate a short while down the road would you be able to re-utilize or sell this piece of furniture? That’s the key question for most parents.

Having trouble locating the perfect child’s furniture? Let us help you find that perfect piece of kid’s furniture that will bring a smile to everyone’s face.
