July 31st, 2010 No comments

The perfect furniture for children should be interesting, practical and safe for use and step stools for kids should not be an exception. On occasions where they need to reach toys that are kept high up the cabinet, plain adult furniture should not be the only option for them to retrieve their toys. Kids’ step stool can be the other alternative for children to reach higher places. When choosing such step stools, parents can choose from a wide variety and select one that matches the decor in the room.

Parents are still able to find plain wooden stools however many of them have gone through innovation and improvement and the otherwise plain designs are customizable now. Today, furniture manufacturers have the ability to provide greater customer satisfaction by meeting the customers’ individual needs. For instance, steps stools that have names carved on it, painted with the favourite colour or printed with the favourite themes are now made possible. The basic and plain stools that you see in the shops are actually meant to be customized and not sold in their original state. Not only will parents be satisfied with the services provided by the furniture shops, their children will also be filled with excitement when they see their names imprinted on the stools.

Apart from the various themes and designs, step stools also come in different styles. Some may come in pure wooden materials, while others consists of padding or cushions to ensure more safety. A padded step stool has seats and steps wrapped by padding or cushion which assures parents that their children will be safer when they are using the stools. In addition, such furniture is becoming increasingly popular due to its durability and comfort. Children can experience greater comfort by using a padded step stool instead of a wooden stool.

To complement their children’s furniture, parents could also opt to get padded bar stools for themselves. This will create a consistent ambience within the home and perhaps parents are able to enjoy further discounts from the furniture shop if they buy both the padded bar stools and the children’s step stools at the same time.

Writing Books For Beginners

July 30th, 2010 No comments

It does not matter whether you want to write fiction, non-fiction, horror, romance, or science fiction. It does not matter whether you want to write a book of short stories or whether you are getting ready to write the great American novel that will win the Pulitzer next year. Every single book has three things in common–a beginning, a middle, and an end. Too often a wannabe writer will sit down and get paralyzed because they are trying to do everything at once.

In the beginning of a writing project, the only thing that matters is to get started. I tried for years to write a novel. Do you want to know what I tried? First I read a book about learning how to write. That was easy, so I read another book about writing books. And another. This went on for far too long. It was not until I forced myself to actually starting writing that things actually happened. The results were predictable, but wonderful.

Three years after starting, I had finished my novel. I didn’t care if my writing was wonderful or wretched. I only cared that I had done it and it had been fun. But it wasn’t fun until I started to enjoy the process of daily writing. And I could not enjoy that process until I started writing of course!

Committing to writing books is scary. I know because I have been there and I’m still there when I start a new project. The key is to get started. That is all you need to worry about in the beginning. Sit down and make your fingers move. Pencil it in, type it out on a computer, it does not matter how you do it. You just have to start. And once you start, come back every single day if possible and keep going. The most fun I have ever had writing a book is when I realized that the process was getting easier and enjoyable!

You will too. Please give it a try if you’ve been putting it off. Just write something today. Anything at all, but don’t wring your hands forever. Time is finite stuff! Once you make a strong start, you will get better every day.
